Many big skincare brands are reworking their formulas, responding to changing consumer demands, rising trends, and the pressure from smaller indie brands using potent, proven ingredients that cater to different skin types
It may feel like a catch-up game, but one thing is clear: NIVEA is stepping into a new era of body care and doing so with confidence.
I attended their dazzling relaunch event in the middle of Sandton City. An unusual location, I thought at first, until I saw the activation. Right next to the supermarket, the space was alive with interactive elements, prize giveaways, and skin education moments. It was a smart, people-centric move.
Hosted by the always-engaging Pamela Mtanga, the event included dynamic performances from popular musician Zee Nxumalo and Top Brass whom I wasn’t familiar with before, but I left a fan.
As a trusted global leader and local favourite in skincare, NIVEA has refreshed its body care portfolio not with gimmicks, but with thoughtful upgrades that still deliver on what loyal fans love.
The new formulations are enriched with 100% Pure Hyaluron, deep nourishing serum, and almond oil, offering up to 72 hours of long-lasting moisturisation, especially for very dry skin. This essentially means it helps your skin hold onto moisture. It works like a sponge, drawing water into the skin to keep it plump, smooth, and soft.
The updated NIVEA body care lineup includes:
Firming Q10 + Vitamin C – Boosts elasticity and firms skin in just 10 days, now enriched with a collagen boost complex
Radiant & Beauty – Enhances tone and glow for melanin-rich skin, powered by 5 vitamins and 5 oils
Repair & Care – Replenishes and restores the skin barrier for sensitive and very dry skin
NIVEA MEN – High-performance hydration tailored for men’s skin with a triple moisture boost
Pleasure Scents – Sensorial body care with indulgent fragrances for a mood-lifting touch
Having received some items of the new range before the event, I’ll be honest: I was a little nervous trying them. My skin hasn’t always agreed with other brand reformulations. But NIVEA Rich Nourishing still holds its ground, creamy, deeply hydrating, and perfect when paired with a body cream for the winter months.
You’ll find the new era of NIVEA body care on shelves now, nationwide. I suggest you give it a try, especially if you’re looking for targeted, effective skincare that still feels like the NIVEA you know and trust.
